3 Good Japanese Restaurant People Don’t Really know.

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Jakarta but sometimes its just very hard for us to pick and choose which ones to go to… Theres tons of restaurants that doesn’t get enough recognition because its either less popular or the place is not as convenient. Here are the 3 restaurants I recommend you guys to go and try.

1. I have to say that Keyaki serves the best Japanese food hands down. I think this place is a legend because its been in Jakarta for more than 10 years. Ambience of the place may be old and the AC is pretty much working but not working, but still its located in an old-renovated hotel (Sari Pan Pacific) which I think is still in pretty good condition. Food there tastes amazing, and what’s more special is that its for buffet! Its best if you could come to this place for lunch because they have tons of variety and I’m sure it won’t disappoint your belly. If you’re there you should try their sukiyakis and their grilled seafoods. Sukiyaki is a term in Japanese for soup or stew that mainly consists of meat and vegetables. Moreover, I honest think Its super worth it and if you have a big appetite like me this is the place for you. As for price, I should say its reasonable because its in a hotel and you get to eat a lot. If you’re the type that does not eat a lot you can always order from the ala carte menu.

2. Yoshi Izakaya is a really good Japanese restaurant that not many people know just because its located in a less popular hotel. Not a lot of people go here to eat. The highlight of this place is that they serve Robatayaki and has a Sushi and Sashimi bar. The seats are rather unique too because the chair are in a shape like bird cages. The place is trendy for a Japanese restaurant. In addition, I think they serve the best “Salmon Belly.” I recommend you guys to order it when you come here because the Salmon is very fresh and its just very soft. They also have some good Chirashis (rice and raw sashimi on top), and a lot of set menus for you to choose from. This restaurant is perfect for lunch and dinner.

3. Iseya Robatayaki is the place where you want to go if you like Robatayaki. If you have no idea what Robatayaki means, it refers to a method of cooking. Its kinda like barbecue but they grill the food and normally they cook it in front of you. If you’d like something like this visiting this restaurant would definitely be a good idea because not only the food taste great the whole experience is really nice. This restaurant impresses me because the chef comes and cooks right infront of you. And they’re not just ordinary chef, they’re highly seasoned chefs literally and figuratively speaking. My favorite dish would be the baked clam because its to die for. The entire thing just melts in your mouth and its even better to eat it while its hot. More importantly the chef also surprises you with their dishes. We have no idea what they’re going to cook for us (Omakase style). Another thing that was totally unexpected was when the chef actually saw us out to our car!  This was really going the extra mile to show the great service that they have.
